About the Product
What is MyCROCEMENT™?
MyCROCEMENT™ is a premixed, ready-to-use microcement system. Unlike traditional microcement that requires on-site mixing of multiple components, MyCROCEMENT™ comes pre-formulated in a bucket — open it, apply it, and seal it. It creates seamless, modern finishes on floors, walls, bathrooms, kitchens, and more.
How is MyCROCEMENT™ different from regular microcement?
Traditional microcement systems require mixing powders, liquids, and additives on-site with precise ratios. MyCROCEMENT™ removes that complexity entirely — it’s premixed, so results are more consistent and the learning curve is dramatically lower. The same professional finish, with a process that’s actually learnable.
What surfaces can MyCROCEMENT™ be applied to?
MyCROCEMENT™ can be applied over tile, concrete, cement board, drywall, plywood, laminate, OSB, MDF, and more. It handles both porous and non-porous surfaces — one kit, one bucket, all surfaces.
What colors are available?
MyCROCEMENT™ is available in 5 curated colors: MyBabyFawn, MyOliveBranch, MyStonePath, MyToastedOats, and MyWhiteBirch. Each color is named to reflect its natural tone — from warm sand to soft grey. Visit the individual color pages for swatches and usage inspiration.
What kit sizes are available?
Kits are available in two sizes: 5m² (approx. 55 sq ft) and 10m² (approx. 110 sq ft). Choose based on your project area — when in doubt, round up to avoid running short mid-project.
Is MyCROCEMENT™ the same as concrete or cement?
No. Despite the name, microcement is a polymer-based coating system applied in thin layers — typically just a few millimeters total. It’s not poured or structural like concrete; it’s a decorative surface finish applied over an existing substrate.
How thick is a MyCROCEMENT™ application?
The total system build-up is typically 2–3mm across all layers (primer, base coats, and finish coat combined). This thin profile is part of what makes it possible to apply over existing surfaces without raising floor height significantly or adding bulk to walls.
Does MyCROCEMENT™ have a strong smell?
The product has a mild odor during application and curing, similar to other water-based coatings. Good ventilation is recommended during application and drying, especially in enclosed spaces like bathrooms.
Is MyCROCEMENT™ safe for kitchens and food-prep surfaces?
Yes, once fully cured and sealed with a food-safe topcoat, microcement surfaces are suitable for kitchen countertops. Always confirm the specific sealant used meets food-contact safety standards.
DIY & Application
Can I really DIY microcement?
Yes — that’s exactly what MyCROCEMENT™ was built for. It’s been designed to be approachable for homeowners with no prior microcement experience. If you can spackle a wall, you can apply MyCROCEMENT™. The key is proper surface prep and following the system correctly.
How long does a project take?
Most projects take 2–4 days because microcement is applied in multiple layers, each of which needs to dry before the next. With good planning, many bathroom or feature wall projects can be completed over a long weekend.
Can MyCROCEMENT™ go over existing tiles?
Yes, in most cases. The tile surface needs to be stable (no loose or cracked tiles), clean, degreased, and properly primed. MyCROCEMENT™ bonds to non-porous surfaces like tile without requiring demolition.
Is MyCROCEMENT™ waterproof?
MyCROCEMENT™ itself is water-resistant, but the full system is what makes it waterproof. When applied with the correct waterproofing layers and sealed with the recommended sealant, it performs reliably in wet areas like showers and bathroom floors.
Can it be used on floors?
Yes. MyCROCEMENT™ is suitable for floors in residential settings. For high-traffic or commercial floors, consult with a professional applicator for best results.
What if I make a mistake during application?
Light imperfections in early coats can often be sanded and recoated. The most critical rule: do not rush drying times. Most visible issues come from moving too fast between layers. When in doubt, let it dry longer than you think you need to.
Can MyCROCEMENT™ be applied in cold or humid environments?
Application and curing times are affected by temperature and humidity. For best results, apply in moderate indoor conditions (typically 50–85°F / 10–30°C) with reasonable ventilation. Extreme cold, heat, or humidity can extend drying times significantly.
Can I apply MyCROCEMENT™ over painted walls?
It depends on the paint type and condition. Glossy or unstable paint surfaces need to be prepped (sanded or primed) to ensure proper adhesion. A stable, matte painted surface is generally workable with the right primer.
Purchasing & Availability
Where can I buy MyCROCEMENT™?
MyCROCEMENT™ is sold through approved retail partners — not direct online. Visit the Where to Buy page to submit your ZIP code and we’ll connect you with availability near you.
Why don’t you sell direct online?
Microcement works best when customers have access to guidance at the point of purchase. By partnering with retail stores that are trained on the product, we can make sure you get the right kit, the right size, and the right advice before you start.
How much does MyCROCEMENT™ cost?
Pricing varies by retailer and kit size. As a rough guide, a DIY microcement project typically costs a fraction of a professional installation. See our Microcement Cost Guide for a breakdown of what affects total project cost.
I’m a contractor. Can I buy in bulk or at trade pricing?
Yes. Fill out the professional/trade inquiry on the Where to Buy page or contact us directly. We work with contractors and installers through our retail and professional channels.
How do I know how much product I need for my project?
Measure your total surface area (length × width for each surface) and choose the kit size that covers it with a small buffer — microcement is applied in multiple thin layers, so coverage estimates account for that. The DIY Guide includes a coverage calculation walkthrough.
Does MyCROCEMENT™ ship internationally?
MyCROCEMENT™ is distributed through retail partners primarily in the US. Availability outside the US depends on local distribution — contact us for specific regional inquiries.
What’s the shelf life of an unopened kit?
Unopened kits have a shelf life typically listed on the packaging — generally 12 months when stored in a cool, dry place. Once opened, the product should be used within the timeframe specified on the label.
Do you offer a warranty or guarantee?
Product quality is guaranteed against manufacturing defects. Because results depend heavily on surface prep and application technique, performance issues from DIY application are not covered the same way as a professional installation would be. Check with your retailer for specific warranty terms.
Colors & Customization
Can colors be mixed or customized?
MyCROCEMENT™ is currently available in five curated colors designed to cover the most popular tones for modern interiors. Custom color matching is not currently offered for the DIY line.
Will the color look the same on my wall as it does in photos?
Microcement is hand-applied, so every surface has natural variation in tone and texture — this is part of its character, not a flaw. Lighting, application technique, and the color of the substrate underneath can all subtly affect the final look.
Can I use two different colors in the same room?
Yes. Many people combine colors — for example, a darker tone on the floor with a lighter tone on the walls, or one color for the main surface and another for a accent niche or feature wall.
