What Is MyCROCEMENT™?

MyCROCEMENT™ is applied in thin layers to create a continuous decorative surface.

Unlike traditional tile, stone, or other surface finishes, microcement has no grout lines. The result is a smooth, uninterrupted appearance that works beautifully across walls, floors, bathrooms, kitchens, furniture, and other interior surfaces.

Because MyCROCEMENT™ comes premixed, the material is ready to use straight from the container.

Open the container. Apply the material. Create your finish.

The system is designed to make microcement more accessible without sacrificing the refined appearance that makes microcement so popular.

Why Choose MyCROCEMENT™?

Renovate Without Starting From Scratch

One of the biggest advantages of microcement is the ability to transform existing surfaces without automatically removing everything underneath.

Instead of tearing out tile, hauling away debris, and rebuilding the surface, microcement can often be applied over a properly prepared existing substrate.

That can mean:

No or less demolition.
No or less debris, no dumpsters.
Less disruption and easier planning.
A completely different look that is modern and eye-catching.

For renovation projects, those are powerful advantages.

How MyCROCEMENT™ Works

MyCROCEMENT™ is applied in thin coats to create the final seamless surface.

1. Prepare

Make sure the existing surface is sound, stable, clean, and properly prepared for the system.

2. Prime

Apply MyPrimer to prepare the substrate and promote proper adhesion.

3. Apply MyCROCEMENT™

Apply the first coat of MyCROCEMENT™ using the appropriate application tool.

Once dry, the surface is lightly sanded* and prepared for the next coat.

4. Apply the Second Coat

A second coat helps build the final appearance and allows the applicator to develop the desired texture and character.

5. Sand* & Refine

After curing, the surface can be sanded* to refine the finish and achieve the desired appearance.

6. Protect

Apply MyGuard, the protective sealer designed as part of the MyCROCEMENT™ system.

The sealer helps protect the finished surface and is especially important in demanding applications.

How Much Does One Kit Cover?

MyCROCEMENT™ is conservatively labeled for a minimum coverage of 55 square feet.

Actual coverage can vary depending on:

  • Surface condition
  • Application technique
  • Number and thickness of coats
  • Surface texture
  • Waste
  • Installer experience

With efficient application and minimal waste, a kit may cover substantially more than the labeled minimum.

For planning purposes, we recommend using 55 square feet as the conservative coverage figure, especially for first-time applicators.

Always calculate your project based on the minimum advertised coverage rather than assuming maximum coverage.

Designed for DIY. Built for Real Projects.

Microcement has traditionally been associated with experienced installers and specialized application techniques.

MyCROCEMENT™ was created to make the material easier to work with.

The premixed formulation eliminates one of the more complicated parts of traditional systems: preparing the material correctly before application.

That means you can spend more time learning the technique and developing your finish, and less time measuring and mixing components.

As with any decorative coating, the final result depends heavily on preparation, application technique, drying conditions, and the skill of the applicator.

The material matters. The application matters too.

Create Your Own Finish

One of the things that makes microcement different from conventional tile or sheet materials is that the final appearance isn’t completely predetermined.

Application technique influences the character of the surface.

You can create a finish that feels:

  • Smooth and refined
  • Soft and organic
  • Minimal and contemporary
  • Textured and expressive
  • Subtle and understated

Small variations in trowel movement, pressure, layering, sanding*, and application technique can contribute to the final appearance. Larger trowels minimize texture, smaller trowels enhance it.

That’s part of the character of microcement.

No two applications have to look exactly alike.

A Better Way to Approach Renovation

MyCROCEMENT™ is designed around a simple idea:

You shouldn’t have to completely rebuild a space to completely change its appearance.

Whether you’re updating a dated bathroom, modernizing a kitchen, refreshing a floor, or creating a statement wall, microcement offers a way to create a continuous architectural finish with minimal visual interruption.

It combines the look of a high-end decorative surface with the flexibility of a coating system.

✓ A DIY-friendly application system
✓ A premixed material that is ready to use

Skip the demolition. Skip the complicated mixing.

Create a seamless microcement finish with MyCROCEMENT™. Minimum advertised coverage: 55 sq. ft.

Is MyCROCEMENT™ premixed?

Yes. MyCROCEMENT™ comes premixed and ready to use, eliminating the need to measure and combine powder and liquid components.

Is MyCROCEMENT™ suitable for DIY projects?

Yes. MyCROCEMENT™ is designed to be DIY-friendly. However, proper substrate preparation and application technique are essential to achieving a successful result.

How much does a MyCROCEMENT™ kit cover?

The kit is conservatively labeled for a minimum coverage of 55 square feet. Actual coverage can be higher depending on application technique, surface conditions, coat thickness, expertise and waste.

Can MyCROCEMENT™ be applied over tile?

In many situations, yes, provided the existing tile surface is stable, properly prepared, and suitable for the complete system. Grout joints, movement, cracks, and other substrate conditions must be addressed before application.

Can I use MyCROCEMENT™ in a bathroom?

Yes. MyCROCEMENT™ can be used for many bathroom applications when the substrate is properly prepared and the complete system, including the appropriate protective sealer, is applied correctly.

Can MyCROCEMENT™ be used on floors?

Yes. MyCROCEMENT™ can be used for suitable interior floor applications when the substrate and application are appropriate for the intended use.

Does microcement have grout lines?

No. One of the defining characteristics of microcement, including the DIY version MyCROCEMENT™, is its continuous appearance without traditional grout joints.

Does MyCROCEMENT™ need to be sealed?

Yes. The finished surface should be protected with the appropriate sealer. MyGuard is designed as the protective sealer for the MyCROCEMENT™ system.

How long does the application take?

Application time depends on the size and condition of the project, drying conditions, preparation requirements, and application technique. Multiple coats and drying periods are required.

Will every MyCROCEMENT™ project look the same?

No. MyCROCEMENT™ is a hand-applied material, and the final appearance can vary with application technique, trowel size, material and movement, sanding*, and other factors. These variations are part of the character of a MyCROCEMENT™ finish.

Do I need professional experience?

No professional experience is required for many suitable DIY projects. However, patience, careful preparation, and following the application instructions are important.

Start Your Project

Is MyCROCEMENT™ truly ready-to-use straight out of the bucket?

Yes. It is single-component, pre-mixed, and pre-pigmented. No mixing powders, measuring liquids, or wrestling with pot-life timers—just stir thoroughly and trowel on.

How many coats should I apply?

Apply two thin coats (approximately 1 mm thickness per coat). Sand lightly with 80–120-220 grit sandpaper between coats to remove ridges and achieve a smooth texture.

Can MyCROCEMENT™ be used in showers or wet areas?

Yes. When applied correctly and sealed with MyGUARD topcoat, MyCROCEMENT™ creates a completely waterproof surface suitable for shower walls, sinks, and backsplashes.

What tools do I need for application?

You will need a flexible stainless steel or, better, polycarbonate microcement trowel with rounded edges, a bucket stirrer, and 80 to 120 to 220 grit sandpaper. Always use rounded-edge trowels to avoid gouging the material or leaving dark burnish marks. A DIYer could better avoid burnishing marks with polycarbonate trowels rather than stainless steel.

Can MyCROCEMENT™ be applied over radiant heated floors?

Yes. Turn off radiant heating systems 48 hours prior to application and wait 7 days post-sealing before gradually bringing heating back up to temperature.

How far does one bucket go?

A standard 11 lb bucket covers approximately 55 sq. ft. across two completed coats at a very conservative minimum. With skill and experience, many can go up to 90 sq.ft.
